Ok, you've now got the essential tools you'll need to build your website and to put it on the Internet. Now it's time to learn what you'll need to do to make the site (your home based business) as popular and profitable as possible.

But for now, I think it would be a good time to start looking for business opportunities by finding products or services you'd like to sell within your theme (this may also give you a clearer vision of how to proceed).

I've already talked about Affiliate Programs as a means to make money online from your home based business. Do a search for "affiliate programs" at your search engine to find the ones that are right for you. It will at least, hopefully, give you lots of ideas.

Of course, any products you sell will need to be of a similar theme, but try not to focus too heavily on any one product or service. You are more independent by trying alternative money making products and not relying totally upon any one. You can then prioritize those that prove themselves to be what your visitors really want.

By selling a few products and/or services at the same time you are not totally dependent upon any one of them for your home based businesses survival. Also, this way you can actually provide impartial recommendations on the best products available in your field of specialty.

You can explain the recommendation as an endorsement of a particular product or service you are aware of (out of the many available on the market) that you believe to be the best - and you can explain why you think that. Just make sure you always genuinely recommend only the best products that are available. This is the best way to make money online and the most effective way to run a website based home business.

Many people will tell you that to make money you have to create your own products to sell. This isn't necessarily true unless you're lucky enough to be able to produce something that is the best on the market. If you can't create such products or services then sell those that already are.

So I would recommend that you think about looking for other peoples (or companies) products or services within your specialized area. Ones that are genuinely of excellent value for money, then look for affiliate links, or contact the webmaster asking how to become an online dealer.

WORK SMARTER - NOT HARDER

Try to work smarter rather than harder. In the real world, nearly everyone is paid for their time in doing a job. If they want to make more money they will have to work either harder or at least longer hours. When you build an online home based business you don't have to go to the trouble of building up a huge corporation to benefit from a money making system. These days many people are doing it sat in front of a computer screen. And yet, from this corner of a room in their home, they have access to the whole world via the internet. A good way to work smart is to build a "residual income" that keeps paying month on month.  A residual income is the earning of an on-going income even though you are no longer working on the source of that income. When a writer has finished a novel, or a singer has recorded a song, the royalties continue to create earnings even though the work may have been completed years ago.
